POLITICO Pivots to Planned Parenthood for Taxpayers' Cash After USAID Funds Dry Up

POLITICO seems to be finding new ways to access U.S. taxpayer funds after losing its USAID allocation. For the third day in a row, POLITICO Playbook is sponsored by Planned Parenthood, with the organization’s advertisement prominently displayed in the sidebar.

Notably, Planned Parenthood, like USAID, is heavily supported by public funds. The Government Accountability Office reports that Planned Parenthood received $1.78 billion in federal funding from 2019 to 2021, averaging $592 million annually, in addition to $90.4 million in PPP loans.

Earlier this year, President Donald Trump terminated POLITICO’s $8 million USAID funding, which the outlet claimed was for subscriptions.
