Good news! Illegal aliens can now get their so-called due process a little faster! That’s because the One Big Beautiful Bill is expanding the immigration courts. $1,250,000,000 is being appropriated for fiscal year 2025 to expand the courts.

Those funds can only be used for three specific purposes:
Hiring support staff to assist immigration judges (e.g., clerks, administrative personnel).
Hiring immigration judges to increase the capacity to process immigration cases.
Expanding courtroom capacity and infrastructure (e.g., building or upgrading courtrooms, improving technology or facilities for immigration hearings).
This appropriation likely aims to address backlogs in immigration cases by increasing judicial and courtroom resources
This provides 1.25 billion dollars to the EOIR (EOIR manages the immigration court system) to hire more judges and staff and to improve courtroom facilities, with the goal of enhancing the immigration court system’s efficiency and capacity through 2029.
