Federal agents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), working with the U.S. Forest Service, conducted an enforcement operation Sunday, July 26, at Wilson’s Creek Wild and Scenic River near Collettsville, North Carolina.

Sources tell me ICE apprehended 16 illegals, all single adult males. My ICE source cited computer service issues that morning, which led ICE leadership to release approximately 20 other individuals who had been stopped. Those released were described as females and family groups. ICE never confirmed their status, but the region is known for allowing illegal aliens to live off the land.
I specifically asked DHS about the 20 potential illegal aliens being released by ICE leadership and they did not deny those claims in their response, “On July 26, ICE worked with USFS to arrest 13 illegal aliens, many of whom had criminal histories including DUI and illegal reentry—a felony. All of the illegal aliens arrested have or will receive full due process. They will remain in ICE custody pending their removal or removal proceedings.”
Retired Border Patrol Commander-at-Large Gregory Bovino says Wilson’s Creek Wild is where thousands of illegals gather to live by the river. “This is typical of ICE leadership. They’ve been doing this for years. They release illegals…They could of had the biggest one-day apprehension right there on Wilson’s Creek, but they blew it,” Bovino tells me.
